LA Yarn Crawl 2013
Despite being majorly busy, I was able to attend a small part of the LA Yarn Crawl 2013 this last weekend. It was a nice break from the office, that’s for sure!
Our partner store Wild Fiber, located in sunny Santa Monica, hosted the Chic-a trunk show at the Yarn Crawl. I stopped by the store for a little visit, and when I got there, the store was very busy with lots of Crawlers, and I was joyfully greeted by Teri, the owner. Seeing the Chic-a items all around the store and the fun ways they had them displayed made me nostalgic, thinking back to the very first knitting bag made by Chic-a: The Project Bag.
My favorite display at Wild Fiber was the open Yarn Keeper filled with tape measures handily found at the checkout counter! I can’t say enough about how helpful and friendly the staff were at Wild Fiber. They helped my daughter pick out some fun buttons that will become earrings, and even got me to splurge on a skein of Zen Yarn Garden’s Serenity Lace in the Bumble Bee colorway. I, of course, had to add the beautiful Obi Shawl pattern by Michelle Miller of Fickle Knitter Design in order to make my purchase complete! (That’s what I’ll tell my husband, anyway.)
We spent the rest of the day in Hollywood with family, good food, and a little sunshine. The Yarn Crawl was a fun stop, and I plan to attend more of the event next year! Here’s hoping I find a few more hours in the day!
Thanks for stopping by!
