Someone has gone the extra mile to add FUN to a functional piece of knitting equipment, the most integral piece of knitting, (wait for it) the Knitting Needle. I know what you are thinking, and I just have to say, we agree. They are awesome. On, like, a whole ‘nother planet-realm-thing, awesome. Not only can you make beautiful knitted garments and other accessories with them, you can use them to fight invaders, or criminals, or those crazy people who might try to steal your yarn. (They are probably most useful to ward off those among us who are yarn thieves.)
When they see your “light-yielding-power” that “cuts-anything-but-yarn” needles, they will know your awesomeness and seriousness about protecting your creative fiber creations. Some people may still make the mistake that they are just glow sticks, and just go ahead with their thieving ways. But these people are easily spotted. And easily attacked. Mostly because they don’t believe in Star Wars or Knitting, but also because they’re just not paying attention. The Jedi Knitter strikes again.
Now, the best part is, you can make them yourself. (What?!) All it takes is a little DIY craftiness, some materials and tools, and the link to this post on Instructables.
When in doubt as to whether or not these knitting needles are worth the investment, or whether it will indeed ward off yarn thieves, we recommend posting a sign nearby to this effect: “Beware: Jedi Knitter. Using Lightsaber Needles. Not afraid to use them. (Don’t steal my yarn, or else.)”
Plus, now you can knit in the dark while you sit in wait for your next
