Cleveland Craft Connection, where creative meets business! Sound interesting and fun? Let me tell you a little more about this exciting, one-day event that will take place in October.
In June I was in Cleveland, Ohio, and I had the privilege of having dinner with two amazing ladies, Beth Gantz and Tara Tonsetic. (By the way, dinner was great! We ate at B Spot Burgers, which is owned by Iron Chef Michael Symon.) These two creative and talented women are the driving force behind an event called Cleveland Craft Connection. They met while both attending a workshop for women launching a business. They became friends and knew they wanted to work together. Beth’s background is in needle arts and crafts, and Tara’s background is in event planning. Both of them are business owners.
They wanted to combine their respective talents, and so the idea for the Cleveland Craft Connection was born. Their desire was to create an event (workshop/seminar) in the Cleveland area that explores creative arts as a business. The goal is to help people learn how to launch a creative business or move their existing business to the next level. This would be facilitated through workshops, panel discussions, and guest speakers. The day is meant to be informational, educational, and above all else, inspirational and fun!
I think it’s a great idea to add a business element to a craft event. This is the part that can be daunting and an unknown area to a creative person. I hope this unique event grows beyond Cleveland. I’m looking forward to attending and being a part of their inaugural meeting. Here’s the scoop: the event takes place Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at 8:30 am to 6:30 pm. It will be held at smARTspace in Cleveland, Ohio. All event sessions, crafting supplies, breakfast, gourmet boxed lunch, sips and sweets, networking, a swag tote full of goodies, and access to speakers is all included for $149.
Hope to see you there!
